This prestigious accolade, awarded by the iconic cricket almanack, recognises players who have made a significant impact on the English cricket season.
Jamie joined Whitgift School at the age of ten and quickly distinguished himself as a prodigious cricketing talent. By the age of 12, he was already scoring centuries and keeping wicket for the School’s teams. His leadership qualities were evident early on, culminating in his captaincy of the 1st XI in 2018.
As a key player for Surrey County Cricket Club, his consistency, skill, and leadership have set him apart. Whether dominating with the bat or showcasing his agility behind the stumps, Jamie’s contributions have been instrumental in Surrey’s recent successes. His performances were deservingly rewarded with his recent Test and T20I debuts for England where he has already proven his quality with a Test century.
This recognition from Wisden is a testament to his hard work, commitment, and passion for the game. Everyone at Whitgift congratulates Jamie on this exceptional achievement, and we look forward to following his continued success on the field.
